For the second year in a row, the midget A Etobicoke Dolphins girls hockey team have won the Pittsburgh Girls U19 Thanksgiving Hockey Tournament!
The victory took place on Sunday November 30, 2008.
The game apparently started off shaky for the Doplhins, with the Sharks scoring two goals early on. However, the Dolphins were able to pull it together, scoring a goal hlafway through the 3rd period.
In the last few minutes of the game the Dolphins pulled their goalie. They managed to get the puck to Kelsey (Watts), who one-timed it, tieing the game with only 14 seconds left!
One minute, nine seconds into overtime, Alison Findlay scored on a rebound, and the Dolphins ended up winning with a final score of 4-3. |

The Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School Lady Cougars faced the Etobicoke Rams on October 4, 2008 for the finals in the 2008 Notre Dame/News Advertiser Classic senior girls' basketball tournament.
The final score of the championship game was 64-46 for the Lady Cougars.
Casea Fuller led the Etobicoke Rams in baskets with 10 points.
Congratulations to the team for making it to the finals with 12 teams in total being involved! |
