Man faces three charges in assault investigation in North Etobicoke PDF Print E-mail

On Friday, October 2, 2009, at 2 p.m., TTC Special Constables and police officers responded to a call for an assault in the Kipling Avenue/Steeles Avenue West area.
It is alleged that:
  • the accused boarded a TTC bus and attempted to use an expired Metropass,
  • the accused refused to pay and another patron paid his fare,
  • as the accused was leaving the bus, he punched the woman driver above her right eye.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, William Gilpena, 18, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
  1. Assault Causing Bodily Harm,
  2. Failing to Comply with a Recognizance,
  3. Possession of Marijuana.
He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at 10 a.m., room 101.
