On Sunday, June 14, 2009, at 10:06 p.m., police responded to a personal injury collision, eastbound on The Queensway, east of High Street.

It is alleged that:

  • a car driving eastbound on The Queensway, east of High street, lost control and mounted the north curb, then entered onto the TTC streetcar right of way,
  • the car came to a stop on the median, before re-entering the roadway,
  • the driver fled on foot, but was arrested a short distance later.

The passenger in the car was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver, Sarah Morissette, 33, of Toronto is charged with:

  1. Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm,
  2. Over 80 mgs Causing Bodily Harm,
  3. Fail to stop Cause Bodily Harm.

She is scheduled to appear in court at College Park, Monday, June 14, 2009, 10 a.m, room 507.
