On Sunday, June 14, 2009, at 10:06 p.m., police responded to a personal injury collision, eastbound on The Queensway, east of High Street.
It is alleged that:
- a car driving eastbound on The Queensway, east of High street, lost control and mounted the north curb, then entered onto the TTC streetcar right of way,
- the car came to a stop on the median, before re-entering the roadway,
- the driver fled on foot, but was arrested a short distance later.
The passenger in the car was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, Sarah Morissette, 33, of Toronto is charged with:
- Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm,
- Over 80 mgs Causing Bodily Harm,
- Fail to stop Cause Bodily Harm.
She is scheduled to appear in court at College Park, Monday, June 14, 2009, 10 a.m, room 507.
