On Sunday, May 31, 2009, at approximately 1:20 a.m., police arrived on scene of a single motor vehicle accident in Centennial Park.

It is alleged that:

  • the accused fled the scene of the accident, leaving behind a loaded 12 Gauge Shotgun with ammunition,
  • the accused was arrested a short time later at his home.

It is further alleged that:

  • a search warrant was executed and a fully loaded semi?automatic pistol and silencer were seized.

John Gojevic, 35, of Toronto, has been charged with:

  1. Possession of a Firearm at Unauthorized Place
  2. Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition,
  3. two counts Careless Storage Ammunition,
  4. two counts of Firearm Careless Storage
  5. Public Mischief
  6. Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
  7. Possession Property Obtained by Crime.

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, May 31, 2009, room 101, 10 a.m.
