On Saturday June 9, 2007, at about 3:15 p.m., police received a call for a shooting on John Garland Boulevard.

It is alleged that:

  • four men were in a vehicle heading westbound on John Garland Boulevard from Kipling Avenue,
  • another car pulled up alongside them and someone began firing gunshots at the victim's vehicle,
  • the victim’s vehicle continued on for approximately three?quarters of a kilometre before coming to a stop near 70 John Garland Boulevard.

On Friday, March 20, 2009, Devon Vivian, 20, of Toronto, was arrested in Kingston, Jamaica.

He was charged with First Degree Murder and four counts of Attempt Murder While armed with a Firearm.

On Thursday, April 23, 2009, members of the Toronto Police Service Homicide Squad returned Devon Vivian to Canada.

He was scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, April 24, 2009, room 206F, at 10 a.m.
