Halton police have apprehended a 25-year-old Etobicoke man in connection with the stabbings.

Police have said that the attacks occurred around 2:45 a.m. Friday night, originating with an incident outside Rude Native restaurant on Brant Street, near Lakeshore Road.

It's been said that the first victim, who is only 23, was coming out of the restaurant with some friends when his brother got into a physical fight with a passerby. Although the fight ended, the man was stabbed in a subsequent quarrel with the passerby.

A short time later, a 34-year-old man, who had nothing to do with the restaurant fight or the first man who was injured, was also stabbed.

Both men were stabbed in the torso with a knife.

The first victim is in intensive care, stable after surgery. The second man is expected to be released from hospital very soon.

A 25-year-old Etobicoke man was found at a friend’s home in Burlington, where police located the knife they believe was used in the attacks.

The man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, and breach of probation.
