At around 1:45pm today, I was driving along Lakeshore Boulevard West going East bound and I noticed a crane that had fallen over. The Police were on the scene.

The accident will only effect West Bound Traffic as some of the crane seemed to be in the road still. For all those who commute to work from Etobicoke into Toronto City Center, the traffic could be bad along the the Lakeshore tonight.

“We are very fortunate that nobody was injured,” said Staff Sgt. Mark Tilley, of 11 Division. “The situation could have been much worse.”

Tilley said the mobile crane was working on a condominum development in the area when the incident occurred. The operator escaped unharmed, he said.

Police had no cause for the accident and said Ministry of Labour investigators have been notified.
