Anthony Greens mellows and charms his listeners with his impressive vocals on his full length solo album. The album begins with a raw live in the park feel to the song "She Loves Me So". As you move through the album the next song "Dear Child" in true Anthony Green style, which has a psychedelic experimental feel to it, which is very noticeable with his multiple projects such as Circa Survive. Reminiscent of Anthony Greens band "Circa Survive", "Dear Child" has that more rock feel to it. "Dear Child" is particularly very old and has been played with Circa Survive. This song explains Anthony Green was written at a time when he was away from his lover and she would relentlessly be calling him which put strain between the couple. Through this situation came inspiration for the song, he began to think from her side of things and this is how the lyrics "iv been trying to reach you, but my extension cord wouldn't reach that far" came about. There are countless songs that seem to be written to his love while he is away on tour, and battling substance abuse to maintain his love. The album name "Avalon" has been rumored to have come from were he recorded the majority of the album in Avalon New Jersey. Through out the album it has a really southern feel to it. Multiple acoustic guitars full of slid guitar mixed in with electric leads, drums with the occasional harmonica added in, and impressive back up vocals of Anthony Green bellowing out high end in the background sound to it. The the top 5 songs to look out for on this album would have to be (She loves me so, Dear child, Stonehearted man, Drug dealer, Devils song) i would have to give this album a 9/10 because it has a wide rang of experimenting with different sounds, his beautiful and spine chilling high notes and exceptional job on composing the music and back up vocal. -Sam Mauerhofer
