Actually, it's a sad day for all Canadian music lovers, but I happen to live in Etobicoke, so we'll be hurting here too.
Well, this is no longer the case. As stated on the company blog, listening to Last.FM radio will now cost €3.00 per month if you live outside of the US, Germany or the UK. Hmm, that's only the majority of the world. Oh, and when you consider the geographical situation of Etobicoke, you realize that it is completely outside all three of those locations! Unbelievable! So yes, that's right, be prepared to fork out an additional $5 (by today's exchange rate) per month, just to keep doing what you already were. That's like $60 per year! That's enough to pay for high speed internet for a month and a half, and download a lot of music. Absurd, that's what I say.

For the last couple of years I and millions of others have relied heavily on Last.FM to develop new musical tastes based on the likes and dislikes of people similar to us (our musical 'neghbours'). It has remained free, while generating revenue from advertising and commissions on sales of music through the site.
