Joe Fresh leaves me warm and fuzzy at the Fall/winter 2009 preview
By: Little Mod Girl
The hottest ticket in town during Toronto fashion week was undeniably the Joe Fresh show. The invite only show was a who's who of Toronto's fashion community as editors, photographers and recessionistas lined the runway eager to see the discount brands latest designs. Supermodel Irina Lazareanu opened the show (and later confessed to In Fashion how nervous she was walking in a Canadian show), she set the tone for the truly Canadiana collection. The Fall/Winter 2009 collection can be, in my opinion, summed up in two words: Chalet Chic! Models were decked out in down filled coats and elegant down a-line skirts, big knit hats and (cozy up by the fire) cardigans. The colour palette focused on crisp winter whites, grey's, blacks and a burst of red. While spring has finally sprung, this collection has me thinking about my purchases for winter! My covet items include a gorgeous structured red coat for my hubby and a long grey cardigan with matching head warmer for myself.
