There was a fire today at 2369 Lake Shore Blvd W. The residents called the fire department for help at around 1p.m. Many of them called from the cell phones as they were trapped on their balconies.
The firefighters had to gain access to the fire by way of ladders, some that were 3 storeys high. The firefighters had the fire under control relatively quickly.
The residents didn't have to be evacuated by ladder, which was a real relief said one resident.
A total of 10 residents were checked over for any injuries, and fortunately only one was taken to hospital for inhaling smoke.
The fire started in the electrical room which is situated on the third floor.
The TTC came through with their assistance, they provided shelter to people that couldn't return to their dwellings.
Well done to the firefighters of Etobicoke and also to the TTC for providing the buss's for shelter.
