Four men and a 16 year old boy face 22 charges, sawed-off shotgun seized |

On Monday, March 16, 2009, at approximately 1:55 a.m., police were on patrol in the area of Jamestown Crescent.
It is alleged that:
- the officers approached four men and a young offender in a backyard of a home on Jamestown Crescent,
- as the officers spoke to the males, a sawed?off shotgun was seen lying on the ground,
- the four men and young offender were placed under arrest and the sawed?off shotgun was seized,
- the shotgun was reported stolen in a break?and?enter in York Region in 2008.
Calvin Grant, Tola Omar, and Abdinasir Dirie, all 18, of Toronto, an 18?year?old man and a 16?year?old boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are each charged with:
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition,
- Possession of a Firearm Obtained by the Commission of an Offence,
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,
- Careless Storage of a Prohibited Weapon.
One of the accused, 18, who cannot be named under the Y.C.J.A., is additionally charged with two counts of Refuse/Fail to Comply with the Y.C.J.A.
The accused were scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Monday, March 16, 2009, room 206F, 10 a.m.
