On Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 3:01 p.m., police responded to a call for a medical emergency at 147 Norfinch Drive. It is reported that:
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2009. The post-mortem examination, conducted today, concluded the cause of death as multiple stab wounds in the presence of blunt force injury of the head.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2009, Jawad Hazzanzada, 26, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.
He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Thursday, March 19, 2009, room 306, at 10 a.m.

The victim has been identified as Rajeswaren Saravanamuthu, 39, of Toronto.
The victim is the owner of a scrap metal business at 147 Norfinch Drive.
