Three Etobicoke couples have been stranded by anti-government riots over in Bangkok, Thailand since last month, they are now due to get back into Toronto Dec. 5. 2008
Barbara and Douglas Kerr, Nancy and Terry Dockerill, and Carol and Mike Cunnane all set out excitedly for an Asian cruise holiday back in October - but their month-long trip was unexpectedly extended by eight days when protestors decided to take over the capital city's main airports the day prior for their scheduled flight.
Half of the 80 or so Canadians travelling with their tour group were sent home Tuesday, the 'grueling' travel plans - an eight-hour bus ride, followed by 18 hours of flight time - proved too arduous for the Etobicoke couples, said John Kerr, son of Barbara and Douglas Kerr.
Their prescription medication supplies began running low, and their health deteriorating due to stress and frustration, the Kerr family said they were fearing for their parents' lives.
Glad they are coming home safe and sound!
