At 6:30am on the 5th of November a transport truck carrying copper tubing crashed off Hwy. 427 southbound on it's way East bound on the Gardiner Expressway. Its trailer disconnected and fell to the QEW below, where it crushed four cars. The trailer fell 20 metres, or six storeys.
Unfortunately an Oakville man died because of this terrible accident, he was airlifted to hospital but later died because of his injuries, the man was only 53 years old.
Four others were also injured in this accident, and it is surprising that more didn't sustain injuries.
The truck and cars that were involved had to be kept as they were found while the forensic teams combed the scene for evidence of the cause of accident.
There were more than 100 emergency vehicles that responded to this huge accident.
The driver of the truck survived with a broken jaw and is now in the Trillium Health centre.
