A tree that's been around longer than all of Canada (or US as well for that matter) has been axed. Actually, no, it's been chain-sawed. Either way, it's not longer attached to its roots.
The tree stood for two and a half centuries at 40 McArthur Ave. Etobicoke, which is near Islington and Dixon.
The tree has been rotting for some time, so it was decided that it was too dangerous to keep it standing. The tree itself didn't think so, it has been able to stay alive all these years, even after being hit by lightning numerous times!
