Businesses on Lake Shore Blvd sometimes suffer from the stigma that hangs over the area. Despite the growing number of trendy and unique businesses, many shop owners in south Etobicoke struggle to build their customer base. "Shop the Shore" aims to change all that.

Taking place on September 20, 2008 (10am to 2pm, the "Shop the Shore" event will involve any local businesses who wish to participate - they simply need to register.

This is in an effort to encourage locals to shop locally, meet their local business owners, as well as enjoy family-friendly entertainment. (I take it Jay Jay's won't be involved...)

The goal of the program is to build awareness and encourage further shopping outings on the Lake Shore. If this is successful, we could potentially see a booming and enjoyable local business scene similar to that in Oakville.
